I grew up with a military background up and all over the world. I was 3 days old when my family left where I was born in Ft. Lee Virginia because my father was being stationed overseas. My family returned to the states in May 1983 when I was 12 ½ years old.
I have attended many schools in my life: many were military, but then when my father retired from the ARMY, we moved back to Oklahoma and I attended Lone Star Elementary School, Allen Bowden Elementary School, Sapulpa Jr and High School, Sapulpa Vo-Tech for Nursing, and finally Platt College.
I have been in the medical field since the age of 16, and have worked my way up from being a nurse aide, medical assistant, to a certified medical assistant/ phlebotomist. Since 1986 I have been a registered medical assistant and a registered phlebotomist. At my current job I have also been the OSHA officer for the last 15 years.
My husband Billy and I of 23 years, live in Glenpool, Oklahoma. Our daughter Tori still lives at home and my oldest daughter Tina lives in Muskogee Oklahoma. I have 2 grandchildren, one boy and one girl.
In 2009, our family (Billy, Tori &I) was in a 3 car wreck that changed my life forever. (We were the middle car- in this terrible crash.) The Drunk that rear-ended us caused us to hit the Mini-van in front of us. Then unfortunately we went over the sidewalk and hit the side of the small bride. My chest on the right side was crushed by the seat belt, that caused Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and IDC Breast Cancer.
I am currently writing the story “Trauma Caused My Cancer”. I have a short story titled: “To Kill with Kindness” and currently working on a new book “Held captive, Bring Sarah Home” I plan on trying to release this by the end of the year.
I am member if the Tulsa Night Writers Club Oklahoma Writers Federation, Inc.
